Why would they want disc brakes on the EK? It's still a 138 ci. Just paint it battleship grey and go in for a engine number change.
HQ's and LH Torana's had 202's and 4 wheel drum brakes.

Regards Seb
That won't fly in Vic, will need engineers to be legal and have insurance.
funny that I KNOW people in VIC that have done the small red conversion without engineering and all completely legal

It's not legal, that's all there is to it. You might get it past Vic Roads but it's not legal to swap the engine to an engine that was not factory for that model car. If you have an accident and an assessor see it's and recognizes the change you can be denied a payout.

Having said that, many many people have done this for many years me included. Just paint the red grey.

I have submitted the paperwork to the licencing centre outlining planned swap , if they want discs, collapsible column etc then I have also just bought a little Jap supercharger and will fit that to the grey instead  although I think an Eaton M90 might be an easier fit than the SC14 ...................

did you not read the last bit AND COMPLETELY LEGAL  there was nothing shonky done they asked the person doing the registration and the person doing the registration was completely happy with what was done, in saying that it means nothing at all seeing as blacky is in WA so it does not matter what is legal or not legal in any other state it's like saying you can register yor drag car if you put headlighs and tail lights on it cause you can in america

yeah blacky sometimes it's stupid if you have to have overkill you might aswell make it worthwhile

you can always paint the 138 red grey and bang the grey motor No on it .................. nobody will ever know ................. except you the driver and anybody else that drives it

sometimes I complain about engineering in NSW but god I hope things stay as they are atleast we only have to keep the engineer happy who uses the rules as a guide line not some pencil pusher that tells you point from point straight off the piece of paper he is reading
I asked the engineer about fitting an engine that doesn't exceed the 20% over we are allowed (138 red 149 and now even 161) he said all he would and needed to check were the welds for the mounts none of the other crap was needed
