I would definately trial fit before cutting that out - someone else on here not too long ago cut out an auto hump by mistake .....

Could be worse... I've got a manual body, which someone welded an auto hump into. I then bought a CRS tunnel to replace it. Wondered why the TH350 fit with no drama without a CRS tunnel. Still didn't believe it, until Dave pointed out that the CRS tunnel was no better than what I had .

Definitely fit the driveline, check the tailshaft angles, then only cut it out if you need to.

We were nearly going to have the AGM at Serpentine pub - heard they do a nice hamburger down there , theres a Tractor museum so maybe we could do a run down there in October ???

This is a photo of the hump from the fire wall I dont like the gearbox to hang to low, like I said the loop is already really pretty chunky and I have to change the 2 outer pieces anyway as they are badly dinted up underneath; I appreciate anybodies thoughts on this.

Hey Guys it would be great if you did a run down to Serpie the pub does have great meals at a good price and I have plenty of parking at my place (on 5 acres not far from the pub)if you guys would like to have a look I would appreciate the input; just don't hurt too much

Paul you are welcome; anytime after giving me a hand with the console on the FC I owe you big time and if the club wanted to do a run and go for lunch we might have to get numbers and book because the pub gets really busy on the weekends or maybe a BBQ at my place just let me know.

Sure are Blacky already booked; with my job it is hard to get away sometimes so my wife and I are really looking forward to having a bit of a relax it is a bonus that it involves cool cars.

Cut that mess out and go again.
Check out my old ute thread if you are unsure on where to start.

Personally I would bolt the subframe on before starting and do it all on jackstands to stop it moving about when you start cutting and welding.

Hey WOT thanks for reminding me of your ute build I had been following it when you were doing the ute and had forgotten that you changed the hump, I went back and looked at the photos this morning.

I am going to go down that path as well, I had originally bought a V6 conversions hump to fit (the one in the photo) to my FC but ended up using the commodore hump from the donor car so that I was able to retain the standard shifter however you have to put a fair bit of extra sheet metal in to get it to match and it doesn't look that great underneath.

I think the existing hump will make the geartbox hang down to low and this will increase pinion angle I like to see the gearbox pan parallel to the ground.

I will put the sub chassis back on as you suggested I hadn't though about it moving about thanks for the advice.

I haven't updated my build for a while so I thought I would put up some more photos.
I think I am have been making a bit of progress or maybe going backwards not really sure.
Got the body up on the rotisserie that I borrowed and founds some dodgy floor repairs that I wasn't aware of, looked good from inside
Also made a fuel tank support for the commodore tank will make a new floor panel to go around the opening and probably weld up the spare wheel door.








I removed the 2 cross supports that had been crushed probably from being used to jack the car up and found that the repairs had been laid over the old metal




Started on the passenger side, purchased repair panels from Taylors in Qld they were great to deal with and good panels.
I have cut this one down, I don't want to remove the subchassis inner leg mount point and will do the same on the drivers side.




Fuel tank support frame just clamped in place at the moment

Have a couple of photos of an original hydramatic hump here Neil.

As you can see the bracing is all above the hump. I think yours is a foreigner.
