The only clue in the pics I could pick was the VW wheel stud pattern, other than than that it looks like its from Mars. Its funny to think someone somewhere had that thing on their drawing board and thought, Fark yeah, I'll make those, there will be people out there wanting one if these!...Rhe aesthetics of some of our current cars could be lumped into same pigeon hole as this car.

Hi guys,

I'm Craig from Perth, I have three of these ugly things in my shed (one belongs to a mate).
I'm slowly making some progress on them, but parts are pretty bloody hard to find.

They are pretty nuts, 3 yr production run. VW "25hp" motor, early ones ran a VW box but it wasnt up to the 1tonne payload so they asked ZF to build a box for them payload went to 1.5 tonne. It's ment to be a pretty tough, used in Eldred Normans Zephyr special which i was once told had 260hp (likely to be a complete fabrication)

This is my "good" one as i found it.

It was the mobile Tuberculosis screening unit. Drove around Victoria with an Xray machine in the back taking Xrays of TB patients.

This is what it looks like now

The plan is to put a slightly later model "36hp" motor in it with a Judson supercharger to help it with the hills.

Zephyr special if any one is interested

I'd be interested in picking up the chassis from Dongra if someone can hook me up.
I don't think I'd tackle it as a restoration but it's not doing much good where it is.

thanks

Craig

Dr Evil probably would have never found out about this if Marko hadn't have posted it up here
I started with nothing and still have most of it left.

Spot on Blacky -

I met Craig at the Midwest car show, gave him a google map snip of where the chassis was and he was on his way.

Good on ya Craig, well done getting it on you trailer! Hope you get some use out of it.
