Looks like a good starting point
I hope you GF didn't pay too much for it. Always a risk when chicks buy cars, without taking someone knowledgeable along.

That's not a bad score, what ever the girlfriend paid is not important, it's the thought that counts.
What is the emblem on the rear guard?
I'd start with the chassis, check for rust then check the floors and the bottoms of the "B" pillars - in between the front and back door at the bottom and the boot under the mat.
All of the rust repair sections can be purchased at TAYLORS AUTOMOTIVE SERVICES PTY.LTD the website is

tincey wrote:Hi all 1st post here,
just thought i would share with you all my new project. I got her about a week ago as a 21st present from the girl friend, was pretty stocked as i have always wanted an old car to restore. The plan is to very slowly restore her to show room condition or as close to, if i am able to that is. She has seen a lot better days with rust everywhere, rusted out floor, and rat and animal crap all through her. two good this are,is that she is mine and also the engine was rebuilt 5000km ago, but that was 9 years ago!
My first problem is finding a place to keep her then the restore can begin.
If any of you have any pointers, info or anything that you want to share with me it would be really appropriated and i have never done this before.

Hi Tincey, great colour, Twilight Turquoise. Thanks for the ID plate. When you get time, can you please post up the chassis number and the engine number for our spread sheet?
Thank you. Good luck with the rebuild.
