I went to the annual FB EK show and shine a few years ago in Bendigo and there was one on display with a similar colour - looked great, but not sure who owns it! Burgandy / Maroon does not seem to be a very common colour

Little update

found a paint shop near me which looks good (although a little pricey) but I have realised I need to straighten all the panels first (captain obvious)... so thats what I will be doing. The upside is, I have been talking to a few people and they think that I should try to fix the stuffed panels rather than replace as they are ru$t free... now to see if I can con the uncle (who is a painter/panel beater) into doing some work for me

Have found some ru$t hiding behind the rear window to be repaired

May have found some replacement glass (rear window)

Still need to replace the floor pans and put the trans tunnel in (waiting for my brother to return the mig)

I will probably be off loading 2 sets of doors and a bonnet in the next few weeks/months

Hopefully I can start a little bit on this weekend. Will try to post pics

Cheers

Deciding on the paint colour is probably the hardest part.

I really like the blue/green colours (tartan / twilight turquoise) also, but so do a lot of people and they seem to be very popular.

Maybe have a look at some of the pic's from previous Nationals and see what blows your hair back?

Yeah the tartan is my fave. I actually love the blue of my 2005 Kawasaki Z750 and toyed with the idea of painting the same

That's the way!

Socket set is looking a bit sparse though. Better start keeping track of them or you'll be wondering what that rattle is in the back of the car for the next 20 years

Keep the pics coming too. Love seeing the progress.

Ha ha ha... I have sockets turning up all over the place!!!

I might ask Santa for a new set.

Did you see the blue in the reflection? That's the colour I'm thinking of

That's the reflection in the rear fender?

I know the blue you mean. With a white roof it would look pretty cool, but could be a bit overpowering if it was all that colour. The blue would also make the chrome really stand out. What is it that Yanks say? Make it pop

Yeah I was planning keeping the roof as is, I like the white. I would also like to get the chrome all re-plated, I love shiny new chrome :)

I haven't done anything with her for a few months, so its time to go back into the garage and continue removing the bent panels to get them repaired. I also got a ratchet set for Christmas, so hopefully my sparse socket set wont need replacing.

Will try to post more pics of her soon

Finally back in the garage and decided to turn the engine over... Found water in the fuel so we decided to put a few drops straight into the carby. She almost turned over but still couldn't get there. So we had a little looksy in the carby and found so much crap and sand I could have started a beach party in the garage.

The carby looks pretty tired and needs rebuilding. It's a two-barrel Varajet from a VH commodore. Can anyone recommend a reliable place in the se burbs of melbs that can look at it for me? Will probably also need a new dizzy cap set up.
