thanks for that blacky , yes they make them there themselves and apparently they are really good . I rang them today and a full set for a four door saloon is $320.0 aud plus freight. have a think about that Kiwifb , we could order 2 sets. there might even be some kiwi expats travelling this way on the forum.

We went out on the weekend and managed to visit another FB which was great motivation.
The car is going to be painted in just over a week as long as we carry on with the cleaning, sand blasting, and putting the new gaskets in. We have found a painter who only paints in Dulon Lacquer, we were going to paint it ourselves but with talking to people we thought we would leave this part to an expert. Our painter is 73 and has been painting the classics for a long time

Talking to the other FB owner highlighted to us that the other part we didn't have a holden boot badge is going to be difficult to find, so I spent a long time on Ebay last night to no avail, if anyone has one they are willing to sell please let me know.

We also talked to the local tyre guy and have ordered some white walls.

I had a hard job finding 185/80/R13s in a whitewall locally. In the end I had to get some from the US through Antique Tyres.

We were lucky a member of the early holden club has a tyre shop and he stocks Kumho they have a slightly smaller white band, but there is another guy who imports them and has them in stock (from America) and they are only $15 dearer and have the wider strip, but we supported our friend

She's in at the painters!! We were going to paint her ourselves, but we have only done 2 pak and I want her done in lacquer, but the painter is an old boy (73) who is happy for us to come down work on the car, and drill our badge, sunvisor holes. He doesn't believe in computers for paint codes and wants to match the colour of flecks left on old parts of the car which makes me a little nervous..

To be honest I don't know a lot about painting, but matching the colour from what's left on the car is the way I'd go.

Very, very nice colour especially with the Grecian white on top. Your car will look just like the picture

I have been hard at work doing all the fun stuff lately, cleaning all the instruments in the dash panel,
sorting out the chrome, ready for rechroming, making sure that we have all the parts we needed, we were 2 bumper parts short, but ‘rustydungers’ has some for us – thanks . I gave the engine it’s 30 year clean with a tooth brush, and hubby is going to paint it on the weekend.

The painter has done a magic job matching the colour, he put a blob over the top and you can’t tell the difference, we found the original Banff blue in a crease which was our matching patch, the car had been repainted at some stage in its life and it’s repaint colour was definitely more aqua than the original blue. The car is being painted in lacquer so I can’t wait to see it “reborn” as she was.

My hubby got the good hubby of the year award, he placed a wanted add on TM New Zealand’s version of eBay and got me a boot badge! Someone had it sitting by their telephone for the last 20 years, its mint, has all pins etc, and don’t hate me but we got it posted, and to us for 70 Australian dollars!
We are still hunting for one more blue fleck seat skin, rusty has one for me so I’m down to just one to find!
I have a radio that was in one of our parts FB’s I’d love some opinions about whether I could put it in this FB – it seems of the era, but some feedback would be great.
And I think it might be Australian?

Its home and in the garage.... Engine was painted by us on the weekend, as was the crossmember so Saturday we should begin putting it back together...
