Nice one
Tim
You were right,It's Apache.Got some paint with the car (lacquer).Picked it up last weekend and drove it home .Sweet.Looks like it needs an engineers cert to get a roadworthy so working through that at the moment.

That's a bummer. The car had Vic rego on it anyway, why did the last owner cancel it?

maybe cause it was never regoed with the 186, one of the perks of no anuall inspection you can do whatever you like to the car or drive the biggest piece of sh!t, the only time you have to worry is if you have a smash any insurance is wiped and kiss goodbye to anything you own

Now I'm really confused
So in Victoria you don't need a yearly rego check? But you need a pink slip (or RWC) if you sell or buy a car?

She wanted to keep her personalised plates. The 186 engine number came up in the Vicroads search so it was regoed with that number but it has no engineers for the mods.

Now I get it. She could've put her plates on hold and put normal plates on it before selling it. I'd be a bit pissed with the seller, buying a car that was registered and now finding it can't be registered. Different story if it was going to another state, but it's not
Hopefully the engine conversion has all been done properly and you don't have any hassles.

In Victoria you can't sell a car with rego without a roadworthy. You can sell an unregistered car without one though so they would have had to get a roadworthy which they didn't have time for. Most cars like this are sold unregistered for that reason as a RWC only lasts 30 days and if it doesn't sell you have to pay to get another.Everything seems to have been done properly and has a CRS chassis kit fitted just might need extra bracing for seats and seatbelts

that sucks atleast in NSW (one good thing

) if you have papers saying the car was regoed with modifications you can rerego without redoing engineers etc or even if it hadn't been engineered as long as it's on some old rego papers

Or alternatively you work out with the seller where they keep it registered and hold the plates till you get a RWC. Then you go back get plates then go see Vicroads transfer it over. Much better solution as it's a win win situation. bit late now though

Still can't get a RWC without an engineer's so makes litle difference about rego.

If everything is there are you sure it hasn't already been done. It would explain the numbers all matching. Under the new VASS system engineer reports are valid for 30 days only. It will be noted on the rego sticker and my understanding is Vicroads take the original.
Or find a different guy to do a RWC. As far as rego goes the cars right.

Got a second opinion and the guy who did the roadworthy was happy with how it had been done and just had to fix a few items,All done now and registered.Sweeet!!
