Yep Gazza, one of Ricks
VAST collection
He did'nt want to sell, but he was good about it and gave me a good deal.
I only ran into him in Mandurah the other day and he seemed surprised I had it on the road so quick! Have a few brake issues to sort out, but I've just about got everything running right.
Sam..........here's some recent pics from the Western Nationals
I've gotten behind the camera......got a mate driving it 'cause I'm busy on the track with the drag car!

You can see why the Girls get remembered more than the car

Yes I have it at the drags for tow duties or use my Satin Black 68 Fairlane.
(maybe the wagon one day!)
I'm Crew Chief/Mechanic for my mate that runs the Nitro Vinyl T- Bucket Altered in Modified division. It's the quickest naturally aspirated stock 308 in the country, 9.56 @ 228 Kmh. on BP premium unleaded pump fuel
Sweet as man

I was crewing at the Western Nationals too, for Benny Gatt. I'm sure you'd know who he is, 6 second XA S/C Outlaw. I was actually on tow duties myself on the Sunday, driving that blown 56 Chevy Pickup... gooooood fun

Yeah your not wrong there.. everytime you guys drove past our pit every one would stop work and have a good look, sometimes even at your car
Did you guys race this weekend?

Brodie.............yeah mate, we were on the same avenue and were busy perving on the CHEV Pick-up every time we went past
Yep, ran this weekend, but I had to work, so my apprentice had to take over dial in duties
Got knocked out in the second round of eliminations against the current leader in Modified.
Dialed in a 9.71 and ran a 9.706 on a .020 reaction time
Lost in the break-out, but four 1000'ths of a second is not much to lose by
Sam..............somehow got to keep an eye on the road, with that in my rear view mirror

, is a pretty hard task!

Just thought I'd do a quick update for ya's all.....................
True to my original plan for the car, I had the front lowered with LOVELLS "Super Low" 2 1/2 inch springs, tinted the windows, installed a heater, original radio, fitted an original tow-bar (for our Vintage Caravan!) and even found a 1950's evaporative "Swampy" air conditioner to put in it!
Here's a few pics of the bits an bobs done so far..........
Heater thanks to Chuck......

Original restored 1962 AWA "Pressmatic" wireless thanks to Harold 61.........

Original "Hayman" tow bar thanks to Western Wagon............

And finally, window tint and the old girl a few inches closer to Terra Firma!

Only thing left to do is maybe a re-spray in the original colours (a shame to touch original 50 year old paint

) and just drive the thing as often as possible

"Livin' the dream boys!" all looks good in the pics, but by f#@k, it's been a
LOT of work to get there
BTW, speaking of toys, here's another of mine I don't think you all seen yet.
Got bored with my brother's old GEMINI he gave to me after copping a yellow sticker.
I had
WAY too many Jack Daniels one night and decided to build a skid car out of it for shits and giggles, to play with in my "spare time"

So this is what rolled out of
Doc's Classic Garage a few cartons of Bourbon later...............................
The "DEFECT" plates seemed a good idea considering it was still wearing it's yellow sticker on the windscreen
Some people say I got carried away with the horsepower,
but I dunno, it seems to go alright
Note to self............................
Lay off the Jack Daniels
