Hi Mick, how are you?
I know

I need "the Facts" polish for this one ....
Although, the Fernando Yelllow and the Desert Glow FB's had sea mist exposure, and the rust had spread out under the paint.
This black EK is more like the Narrandera Fernando with that dry rust which is exacerbated by the red lead undercoat.
Take care,
Steve
good thanks steve and you, i was more refering to what seem like all the scratches on the left side
i know you love original paint but i think good cars deserve good paint, look at the desert glow / corona grey car instead of looking good it looks spectacular

Hi Steve,
Congratulatons. That is a color I have always wanted! Quite rare. Many were used as Taxi's in Melbourne in the 60's
As 'believe it not'.............. people used to hire them on weekends as wedding cars. (All I know had all red interiors) Yep, I have heaps of negs of my dad & his mate Pete's photos of weddings of the 50's-70's.............Imagine our little princesses these days being told that they are going to have 2 taxi's as wedding cars! (And that their honeymoon will be at an outer-suburban OR up-state somewhere hotel LOL)
I organised a club run run in the early 1990's to the Mollison bros private collection of holdens. It was really great. Their dad started the dealership...Many interesting rare factory odd-bod cars in their collection. often they were kept for their rarity when the owner wanted to trade up.
i remember a HK belmont sedan with a V8 & 4 speed. A special floor matt was made for the shifter to come through the floor!
They also have the best collection of FX FJ bonnet ornaments in Australia! Many of them (made by small country foundries) are irreplaceable!
Best wishes for teh new year all. cheers, Paul K

Hi russo, have you still got the guards and if so, are they original paint?
Thanks,
Steve

I passed up a gold one in 84 for $6,000 in a shed on the south coast, because the cost to tidy it up was more than i wanted to spend to get market value at the time. Have photos somewhere to remind me of what i passed up. But at the time they were not that valuable.

Genuine Picardy Red HK 327 Monaro with parchment interior, cost me $800.00. Sold it for $2500.00 & thought that was an awesome turn around.
Yrs. later the current owner traced it back to me & told me he spent $50k restoring & I thought 'what a fool'.
Within 2 yrs the things were pulling well over $100k???
