Well...after much stuffing around and a few set backs..the Sedan is primed ready to be blocked back the paint applied

.
The morning started out well with the car all masked up and ready for 'prepsol-ing'..back it out into the sun and a quick going over with a prepsoled cloth whilst my compressor got up to full pressure. Make my primer nice'n'mixed plug in my spray gun and off we go...er...off we GO...um...why is the primer coming out in spurts?? Must be mix or air pressure?..Mix ok..pressure at 50 psi...must be a blockage..funny I did'nt have a blockage when I cleaned it out last night?? So pour out the primer into a large bottle and clean the gun out..this entailed stripping the whole spray gun apart and cleaning the bits and areas where the paint flows through..but nothing to be found..it's as clean as a whistle..back together again..primer back in ..pressure & take 2....better but is still coming out in waves of good followed by bugger all every 3 seconds or so...

..now totally annoyed..I decide to bite the bullet and zip off into town and buy another spraygun..as I realized that this old gun was only a 'cheapy' in 1989 and has sprayed about a million things...time to retire it..FOR GOOD!
By this time the clouds have started to roll in

and all I have for transport is the motorcycle (due to the Triton has just run out of rego

), stick the car back in the shed..on the bike and off to town...3 k's down the road it pisses down..bugger it ..it's only water...get about 4 k's away from the spare parts shop and the traffic comes to a standstill (Easter weekend is packed in Ulladulla) good thing I'm on the bike so I can move a bit quicker than the bumper to bumper traffic..but it still took about 10 minutes to get there on a bike..poor car driver's

(mind you their DRY!) Get the new spray gun and head back home ..by this time it's bucketing down! Open the new gun out of it's packaging and find it has a different air fitting..no biggie..I'll swap it with the old gun's fitting...WRONG THREAD!!! AAAARRRRGGGGHHHH!!

!!
So after stuffing around for almost an hour with bits of hose, hose clamps etc..I bodged up a working fitting...now..back to priming the car, now that it has dried off outside give it another going over with prepsol and YAY it's a goer!

..It took about 45 minutes to prime & guide coat..and about 4 hours of stuffing around before hand!

...guess ya gotta laugh these thing are sent to try us ..eh?

Kind'a looks tough in primer?

The Tasman was a popular 'trailer' mag too Gaz...check out old car trailers..they used to be very popular. Or Stuart (Parisian62) might have a set for sale?

They'de suit Sue's Sedan perfectly
