hi Scoobb

more questions for you :) ..need to pick as many brains as possible before committing. i'm going to run a 400 hp 350 and was told that rear rack and modified sump wouldn't leave to much room for oil and scrapper etc.
also i want drop spindles same as yours and wondering what size/type of springs and shocks to go for? (what r you running)

love the car by the way :D

Rick,

There is not alot of room at the bottom of the sump, it is made to fit in between the rack and the subframe, I'll get some photos of it and post them up for you.
I was running the drop spindles with standard HR King Springs but have since gone in a different direction. I am now running HQ stubs and calipers with lowered pedders springs which gets it down about the same height and it lets me run the narrower P76 Rotors which I need for the wheel clearance on the front end.

Thanks

Hi Jason
thanks for the info..are you getting the p76 rotors new? (where from?) if so do they come in vented grove etc.

Another one for you.. where did you get your carpet and was it made to fit, ie. the bigger tunnel?

Rick.

Rocket,

Sorry for the late reply, I changed my email address on the forum and it locked me out so I had to re-register as a new forum member to get back on....

The P76 rotors you can buy new from Hoppers Stoppers in the HQ stud pattern, they are ventilated as seen in below photos. you can also get them in slotted.
The carpet I got off eBay and it is to fit an automatic EK so it fits the bigger tunnel.

Below are the photos of the sump as promised.

And as you can see not alot going on with working on her. Haven't had much time with the wife 8 months pregnant and just quit my job to work for myself.

What's with the 'blue walls', Scoobb??
Is it some kind of protective layer over the white? I've never bought white walled tyres before ..so don't think I'm thick!

Scotty.

PS...nice job on the sump! 8)

Yep sump is a snug fit but engineer has already looked at it and doesn't have a problem with it. :D

Scotty that is the protective coating on the tyres, they just wash off when you are ready to run them, should look good once the blue is off...

Yes the motor was a bitch to get in, had to lower the subframe so the motor could drop into it without the rack on and then raise everything back up and put the rack on.

Next job is to shorten the diff so the wheels fit under the guards.

hope you mean front crossmember and not subframe  those rear mounted racks would want to be good to steer if it's that much trouble getting an engine in and out
before you narrow yor diff make sure yor front wheels fit

Hi jason

I spoke to my engineer today in regards to installing a v8 and he said the laws had changed in vic and with a car weighing 1130kg (ek kerb weight) the biggest upgrade was to 4.5 litres
Do you know what the law is like in nsw?

Yes Rick,

When I started doing this the biggest V8 I could put in was a 327...
Better get my finger out and finish it if the laws are changing again.
Have you given any thoughts to the Toyota/Lexus Quad Cam V8?
I think it is around 4.5 litres and goes like a scalded cat.
Pretty sure CastleMain Rod Shop does conversions for the Toyota V8
