I see there is another bloke making lower inner a pillar sections. The bit just above the floor. Another part I could have done with. May be of use Neil?

Clay I just purchased that bit for both sides of the Reverend as his are crap, as you can see in the photo Betta Auto Rubber are selling them $85 ea.

They look good. But gee it adds up. I think Thompson Chassis works fella is the one making them. Oh well, most of it is covered by the kick panel, another repro item. There is so much more on offer now. Not like some long model runs where you can buy whole new shells though.

Got into the shop yesterday
Did a temporary fit of the passenger side chassis rail to strengthen the floor so I could start on the bottom of the A pillar outside. Bottom of passenger side A Pillar before I put on my butchers apron After I hacked my way into the pillar and removed the outer, it looks like the inner is in ok condition, I think I'll put some rust converter on it and then fit the new outer, don't think I will get away with that on the driver side I think it is in far worse condition.

That looks very good Neil. Nice to see some rust reclaimation work happening again on the forum.

Do you need to dummy the subframe on old bean?

Hi Brett there is no end to the rust conversion on the Reverend roof has to be changed and the top of the firewall because the plenum is like swiss cheese.

Clay to trial fit the subchassis I'd have to take it off the rotis and I just don't want to at this stage so I'm just going to wing it, don't get me wrong I know I should but but I'm going to back myself that it is ok.

Better Auto Rubber Blacky but I assume they are on selling not sure who is the producer.

Blue and white stripped (butchers) apron on again yesterday.
I had sprayed some rust converter on the inner section that I was going to reuse.
Unfortunately the very bottom of the inner piece has rusted where it is supposed to wrap slightly onto the inner sill. Cut the new section down and made both the old and the new fit as best I could, drilled holes for tack welding the outer to the old inner, the two are originally spot welded together. Welded it in (as best as I can ) and gave it a clean up trying to hide my bad welds

Put some primer over my mess, the extra material at the bottom has to bend 90 deg back under the inner sill. I had to cut the piece of the inner sill away where the bottom of the guard bolts to, I tried to keep what was there but there wasn't really enough good metal to weld too, I have a donor piece I will weld in and then fold the new outer A pillar bottom onto the sill ands finish welding from the inner side.
Donor piece, needs to be trimmed still, you can see where the outer wraps onto the inner sill. I still have to do the inner piece near the floor pan (the new small piece in the previous photo from a couple of days ago) I think I'm going to stay on the passenger side for a while, have to put in the floor pan once I finish with the A pillar and them may as well cut away the outer sill (I have a new one) fix the rear section of the inner sill and then fit the new outer sill that way the passenger side should be finished
