And another hourImage
Went whole hog on the stripper on the other door and hopefully speed the process.Image
These doors are mint. Just have to weld up couple mirror mount holes.

They look really clean mate - coming together really nicely - a few hours with the volleys and hammers and a skim of filler and she will be better than it rolled out the shop

Next Question - whats the colour going to be?

Wedgewood Blue per factory and I’m hoping they won’t need filler Rob.

Not sure what gear i had been on saying no filler but ended up with a smear here and there. Bloody hot today so got in early. Playmates couldn't go surfing till later.
Bit of a lesson don't test the fan spread on the door you're about to paint so now have a small run to sand. Just flashing off first coat but you get the picture. Better get back on it.ImageImage

Lesson I never seem to learn. Fiddling around putting the body back in the shed dropped both doors on their bottom seams oh fk.Image

Big Milestone there Clay,
I can see how you would be pleased when that first coat went on, any colour would be better than looking at the bare metal. You have done well to get a good run at the prep painting given the crap weather we have had of late. Your attention to that tail gate has paid off too, looks a very tidy fit.

Keep them pictures coming

Regards
Stephen

This guard actually was on the EK van when I got it but turned out go be FB. Remarkably good fit. Few blemishes but. Bought a rares upper rear corner and started reshaping it but I don't like the fit around the cowl vent cover at all.
I had forgotten what a cussing swearing nightmare it is trying to get the bolts in adjacent the door edge. Final fitting will be interesting.ImageImage

Passenger side guard top corner I used a piece cut from the driver side repair. Came out a bit better. The gap to plenum cover is a bit narrow in a couple of spots so bit of hammering. Still better than too much gap u think. This side I welded off the car using copious cooling with wet rag. Being a bit slack drying the panel, I got a small boot from the panel when I started welding again. Making sure to dry thoroughly now. I didn't bother fitting the door this time. Original panels this side.ImageImage
