I don't understand the TRIM codes. The two numbers for the interior trim colour combinations.
Hi Finny
Love your work
The two trim numbers work as follows
The first numbers are the GMH exterior colour combination which is what the workers who build the car use to paint it, and the second are for the interior trim. The actual paint codes are Dulux (Dulon) or other paint company codes that repairers will find in their paint books.
531-985 ; 531 is the GMH exterior code for a single tone Cameo Beige vehicle, 985 is the interior trim code Floral Green & Madison Grey
672-1053 ; 672 is Cameo Beige w/Snowcrest top and 1053 is Rose Coral & Barossa Maroon trim
715-1053 ; 715 is Snowcrest w/Cameo Beige top
Im sure there other combos for Cameo Beige and there are probably 100 for Snowcrest White.
Clear as mud
I had the same learning curve when I put together a HQ-Z paint code page but having a spreadsheet with all the names and combos in front of you makes it so much easier.

Appologies to Steve, this was his thread. I just jumped on in my early days without knowing any proticols.
I haven't even met Steve

It was his idea to get it started.
Great idea Steve.
Happy to help, I can see a need for the images and a register/list.
Thanks for the info Leroy. Yes, I actually have the full list for Exterior paint colours, Just wondering if there is a similar list for interior trim codes.
The 585 refers to "Dulon" paint in a solid colour (not metalic)
Unfortunately, I can't see the first number in the TRIM codes lining up with the exterior paint codes or the actual colours on the cars?
I assumed that the TRIM codes only referred to the interior options.
In the original manual it just says "The trim numbers represent the paint colour combination and trim combination"
Under PAINT it says " The paint numbers represent exterior paint material and colour identification of the basic or lower colour"
This is a sample from the colour chart. Quality is not great.

So judging by the amount of requests Ive seen on here in regards to trim colours it would probably be worth doing up a similar list for them or adding it to your existing one ,I know I got 2 different responses to my numbers when i asked the question

Anybody keen?...Finny?

Finny would you like to do a swap I have a copy of the interior trim codes Im after the early combination numbers, PM me if you want a copy.
Once you list has enough entries you will see that all the cars with
511 as the first numbers on the trim line will always be a single tone Honey Beige regardless of the second set of trim numbers. Also arrange your list by the trim line and you might see the pattern.
Think of it this way say you bought a new HQ in Glacier White the tag will look like this
for Black int;
TRIM 1821-10X
PAINT 568-13134
Medium Blue int;
TRIM 1821 14X
PAINT 568-13134
Flax int;
TRIM 1821 18X
PAINT 568-13134
Different external colours could have more than one interior trim to suit.
