Hi Mick,
will this one make Bendigo................?
glad to hear you've got back into "build" mode.......
keep it coming....

That intake manifold and carb - is the manifold 186S and have you fitted a standard single to it............. interested - if it works ok - I'll do the same and fit my 186S headers.......

Rosco

i never lost interest as such just in cars in general, i've always been fiddling with it
rosco the manifold is a holley 2 barrell one, adapted back to the carby which was off a valiant i think but has the ajdustable main jet, had this set up on the van before i put the V8 in and was pretty good on fuel and that's what i'm chasing this time around some type of fuel economy without loosing to much power
bendigo i don't know, i don't know if i'll have the car next week let alone let alone in 11 months :?

Thanks Mick,
yes, I think I know where you're at with the car - not going to get attached to it...........

I have two sets of headers with the matching manifolds - I would like to fit the headers, but they foul the HR single manifold....... and don't want to grind that section of the heating jacket off.................

I can fit the 186S intake, but the standard carb flange is too small . I will probably make up an adapter plate to choke down the opening and fit some studs to take the standard carb.........but.......

got other things to do before that project.....

Guess we could see a number of your builds before Bendigo....... like to think you'll be at the end of one of these when the time comes................

frats,
Rosco

Hey RB,

As I'm sure everybody knows, especially my friends and family, I said that the FB would be my last. My frustration during this build was bought about by the fact that I set a dead line for the car to be finished and it ended up taking every spare minute of my time and exhausting my finances to get it there. Leaving no time for other things such as family, house, gardens ect.

But when something you have been working on for so long is all finished, you sit in front of the telly, kick a few weeds around in the garden but you just feel like something is missing, :? not quite right. I must admit when the FB was finsihed it was like a big weight being lifted off my shoulders, and it actually felt good knowing I didn't have to go to the shed and get stuck into the car.

Well that lasted for about a week.

I think even Carol knew I may go crazy (or drive her crazy) not having a shed project. And I can honestly say that when I showed her the EK when it was for sale, she thought it would be a good idea. Now I have the EK home and in the shed and I've started pulling it apart (very slowly)
it all just feels right again.

So I think the disease that you and many of us all display the symptoms of is called NORMALITIS
