Just a quick note for the ute owners. The utes (just like the sedans, wagons and vans) originally had a rubber moulding that sits inside the rear bumper bar ends. It mounts to the body, and seals the bumper ends.
The FE/FC boys are making reproductions here:
http://forum.fefcholden.club/index.php?topic=16530.0. The reproductions suit FE/FC sedans. I bought a pair of rubbers, and checked them against my EK wagon - they do not match, as the EK rubber is very different. They cannot be readily cut-and-shut to suit the FB/EK. However, they are a very close match to the EK ute rubbers - see image below, which shows my crappy old original EK ute rubber sitting on a pair of John's repros:

With a little cutting and shutting, they will fit beautifully. The repros are available from Maco (John) on the FE/FC forum at the thread above. John is a great guy to deal with.
Cheers,
Harv

I didn’t even know that utes had these! Now I need to spend more money
Well spotted though. Cheers, Joe

The EK hubcaps look awesome on the ute (thanks Clay - the FB caps are on the way back, PM sent with tracking number).
... though it looks even better with these on it:

good one mate , although considering what a great job you have done with this ute it was really a formality

Pretty pleased with the ute. Drives nice, though a bit of a slug... forgot how much difference the worked head and headers made on the FB. There's a set of Jack Myer headers in the shed, and some triples, and some rollie rockers.... no, wait, need to finish the wagon first

.
Tackled the seatbelts yesterday. Got most of them in, though the passenger inertia reel floor bolt does not want to start. Had to walk away, start again with a cool head this morning.
Cheers,
Harv

Going through all the odds and ends, and realised I had these two rubbers left over:

- Optimized-IMG_0193.JPG (505.5 KiB) Viewed 783 times
They are hollow section, though seem pretty flat. Any ideas where they came from? The ute was in pieces when I bought it, so they may be random strays.
Cheers,
Harv

They look a bit like the rubbers which go between body and front guard tops where they butt up to the plenum cover.

Parcel turned up yesterday thanks Harv. Mother was a bit confused as it looked like a box we used to have. Magic boomerang. Go the yoots.

No drama, and many thanks for the swap.
Dropped the old tonneau off at the trimmers, should have a new one early next week.
Cheers,
Harv
