Its the actual horn terminal im after which is positive and negative cant seem to see any markings on the horn itself.
I dont think the little picture of the horn in the diagram would be correct to copy from if i layed the actual horn the same way as the pic

Yes its Tony with the FJ ute , and I dont think it will matter what wire goes to where on the horn.
I started with nothing and still have most of it left.

Tony offset my rear steelies. I didn't even think of him for fuel tanks but now you mention it off course, he is a super wizard with old holdens. His ek is also a work of art.
I suppose with the horn i can give it the old sparkie house bashers testing procedure of "turn and burn"

Sorry but we once had a Peugeot 404. Everything was backwards. Pulled up the knobs to lock the doors. Horn went peeb instead of beep. Good car actually. Just rusty. Assembled in Melbourne 1962. Sold it to a junkie and bought black FC which was even better.

Looking good Clint,
Did you use that can of Hahn Super Dry to polish the chrome? I must give it a try!

For the horn it won't matter which wire goes to which terminal, it will work fine.

Stephen

The correct horns are getting harder to find in working order. Wonder if anyone refurbishes them.

not to sure ,i did consider taking it apart to move the bracket around on it to bolt it to the car but somehow ended up side tracked and removing the fuel tank and sender

There ain't much inside them, just a hefty coil with a set of points in series with the coil. It is usually moisture / corrosion that gets to them.

so i have a oil pressure sender on my spare blue motor and im wondering if it would work on my red motor in the fb with the original fb wire to it.
as in i presume the grey oil switch would come on when oils low.
So would the blue motor oil switch work the same as grey or is it different internal to suit a oil pressure gauge
I have a mechanical gauge i just want the dash light to work as it would with a grey
Thanks

The little jobs that chew up time
Image

The hardest bit is making sure all holes are absolutely burr free and rubber grommets having a tight fit and all swarf removed
Image
Image
The battery tray hide most of this wire once back in. The Big block 161
Image
Image
Ive hidden the horn wiring in the front rad support
Image
Image
i could have done with one of those right angled drills but i just pulled the dizzy out for access instead. so this hole is for the dizzy coil and oil pressure wires
Image
Image
i might make up some plates to go under the terminal blocks for a bit of protection
The drivers side is done but ive pulled it back in the dash for now ive ran a feed for the dizzy and one for the coil which will terminate behind the dash for full 12v supply out. i removed the pink wire that originally went from the acc terminal to the oem coil and installed a new pink wire, this will be my trigger switch for the dizzy and coil relay. will see how it goes

That sender is for a gauge not a light - you need a different one mate.
