I was losing water out the head gasket so it was the only thing to do. Probably easier than doing a timing gear on a grey motor.
2 hours and back on the road.

Just heard from Fishyweare (Paul).
He's broken down just south of Gympie.
Engine stopped and thinks he's done the timing gear.
Go to see about getting towed to Gympie.
And he thought his was running great.
IT's LIKE WATCHING DRUNK MONKEYS TRYING TO HUMP A FOOTBALL.
FB and EK's on the open road doing kays there is no better thing. Good luck to you all and we so wish we could have got out of Tassie to join you all. Hopefully next year we will be trading road stories in person.
I popped to have a look and what a beautiful sight seeing all those FB and EK's lined up. Despite intermittent rain, it failed to dampen spirits of onlookers
Great show - magnificent cars.
We would like to thank the Qld club for planning, running and completing a wonderful event.
With nearly some 70 entrants in this year's event - I was very much humbled by the ever rising standard to which our old buses are progressing.
There were some simply wonderful exhibits and I believe we can all appreciate the thousands of hours put in to the builds, preparation and presentation.
I again found it most rewarding to meet up with many dear old compaigners who, with their owners - travel far and wide for us to enjoy.
It was indeed a wonderful opportunity to meet up again with former event acquaintances, but also most enjoyable to finally acquaint with members from this forum who up until the past week have been entirely by electronic media.
The entire nats ran without hiccup - a credit to a club that is not only restricted by the distance members are from each other - but also by a relatively small size of some 36.... a feat which is surely something to appreciate.
To all members of the FB/EK Holden CC of Qld and in particular to the committee who have undoubtedly worked very hard though out the year to make the event the great success it was - a big thank you from Ross and Dorothy.
Well said Rosco The whole event was very well organized .it was such a pleasure to be a part of it & to be greeted by such a friendly bunch & finally meet the folk from the forum , thanks all for a great time, Nev & cathy
Our second year and another wonderful year made even better by the new friends made on this trip. So many names with such a bad memory is not a good mix either but with such a good bunch reacquainting wasn't an issue. To our new friends this year we hope to catch up again next year. We are totally hooked.
We don't leave HB till tomorrow, today is a bit of a downer seeing everyone go. Waved off Milkshake and Blueberry and crew and have seen a few others go past. We miss it already and are planning next year in Renmark and 2018 in WA.
Work begins...................back to the shed soon.
