That's the only part I understood, and it applies to me, I think.Harv wrote:Never be afraid to ask, or laugh

Cheers,

The rest of it, I have no idea what's going on, guess I have to read more threads.

"Idiocy" was its doing.
"Hood" was its doing.
FRONT Quarter Panels however was the doing of my Work Experience at Heywoods Smash Repairs in Shepparton.
So, how about instead if Picking apart everything that anyone tries to do....... too early in the morning to have a good rant.
Just if you don't feel like helping with the questions asked, and would rather insult people, then go over to 4chan and insult the trolls.
Go back and read my reply really S L O W L Y!
I corrected your terms so you would be aware of the correct ones to use so others offering help would have some idea of what you are on about.
I typed Bonnet into my spell check and it came out Bonnet, not Hood. You must have some strange spell check.
My other comment relates to your lack of knowledge and understanding of how cars were repaired in the 60's and 70's to keep them going. Not your general lack of knowledge.
Unlike others here I prefer to tell you exactly how it is, and not bullshit and piss in your pocket. But it seems an honest reply is not what you want to hear
The Google generation are a very different breed, that hopefully one day will wise up and get an understanding of what us older guys were on about.
I might join Mini, as I do understand what he is on about and what pisses people like him and me off
Im off to somewhere else as you dont need or want my help
Best of luck

It may answer allot of questions, and you will see what you are dealing with now is common with these cars!
If you wanna see some home made fixes on a car you should see my wagon! But it was a builders car for 27 years!

I have looked around other threads, stuff like Electrolytic rust removal will come in handy, and I have learnt a great deal looking at other rebuild/resto threads.bumper wrote:its amazing what you can lean by watching others!![]()

It may answer allot of questions
but nah, not just that, need to read more into what the go is with everyone. seems like everyone has at least one person they don't like on these forums.
Re: mine & dazzajay's FB ute
Apologies if I offend anyone (including Mark... sorry
) - it wasn't the intent.
Should have written it with less sarcasm:
Strikes me as a shame when anyone gets wound up over advice offered on the forum. The advice here is offered from a long distance, with the adviser often having little knowledge of the persons talent or passion. It cost you nothing to get the advice, and if you don't like it, ignore it. FB/EKs are supposed to be fun (at least for me) - if you're not laughing (or at least smiling), somethings wrong.
Cheers, and I promise to pull my head in,
Harv

I always thought that there are no stupid questions, only stupid answers....
that's why I am always asking questions and really try to learn from the responses, which so far have been invaluable... It is great that people are passionate about their work and i have learnt alot from these people, it is just a shame when this passion starts to become bullying
Thank you all for the knowledge passed on and I will continue to post and learn from this forum.
I think I may have even made a few new friends from it

The standard FB vacuum system sucksDazzaJay wrote: Start accelerating and the wipers stop.... then when you ease off... they go nuts.
The idea we are going for, at least with the wipers, is make them LOOK like the vacuum system, but make them Electric.

BTW my FB has the EK electric wipers...

Correct me if I am wrong, but I thought Plastic had the ultra rare NASCO electric wiper conversion unit for the FB Holden. These look quite different to the standard EK unit. Last time I saw one was at the 2001 Taree nationals, where an NOS example was auctioned off for several hundred dollars. I think James Smoother bought it.MeFB wrote:BTW my FB has the EK electric wipers...

Re: mine & dazzajay's FB ute
We have 3 different wiper motors. One is the standard Vacuum one, another is one that has lots of stripes around it, and the other one has "Delco" text embossed on the surface (Which is currently in the ute)
Any idea on which is from what?

I'll be back home in a couple of weeks and will add this to my list of stuff to check. It's possible that Russel or Owen removed it whilst the car was in their care.
Could you please let me know how to identify if it is the Nasco part? (sorry to hijack your thread dazzajay).
