standard size rims, suit HR disc front

Post by Dakam »

I'm after a set of standard sized rims for the FB, but must suit disc brake front (HR). Can be a bit rough as I wll strip to metal and respray. Local pick up prefered.
Thanks, Dave.

Hey Pat, I have a set of 7inch rims here. I was after something around 5inch or whatever the original width is. Got me some FB hubcaps with 'H' medalion and want to show em off! :D

1962EK, I'm gonna keep the dragways so I can change over whenever I feel like it.

Dave.

Dave,
not sure if you want new, but ROH still do make them for trailers and caravans
they come in a variety of sizes and stud patterns
13 x 4.5 Max Load 750kg
14 x 5 Max Load
HT - 750kg
HQ - 950kg
14 x 6 Max Load
HT - 700kg
HQ - 750kg
HQ 1tonne - 1000kg
around the $60 mark for the 14" x 6" rims not sure of the price for 13"
Try a trailer place if your local tyre retailer can't get them

Thanks Marty. Didnt think it would be that hard to find standard HR rims. If I wanted them wider the stock, I wouldnt have a prob, theres heps out there. I actually have a set of 7inch in the garage. I checked wreckers, internet, wheel suppliers, and nobody could help.
I wil try these Marty, a little more than what I was going to spend, but if its the only option I have, I will look at going down that path.
Being for caravans, I assume the lugs for the hubcaps wont be on them either.
HMMMM....what to do????

I didnt think that they would be that hard to find RB. Hang on to them!
Thanks Fatboy, its looking like thats the way to go. If you got one for $40, it will probably end up cheaper than getting 2nd hand set and fixing them up. All I need for the new ones is to spray a different color, now thats another kettle of fish. I have H medallion hubcaps, and was going to fit white walls (portawalls). Now do I spray the rims ....White, the body color sandstone beige (which I have some paint left from the back door touch up), or the flash color, desert glow?
I was leaning towards the flash color, desert glow.
Hmmmm....decisions, decisions.

The do have the lugs for hubcaps, I shopped around a bit for mine and had a variety of qoutes for them and ended up with 14 x 6 for cheaper than the 14 x 5 at another place so pays to shop around.

From what I've read, the 13 inch "trailer" ROH rims won't take a hubcap as they are missing the locating/holding lugs but the 14's have the lugs so will take a hubcap.
I can't think what to write here so this will do.

Dave paint them the colour of the flash. Will look good against a port-o-wall.
Speed and Style........... One day I'll get the speed bit.
