Distributor needed ASAP

Post by J »

Mine is absolutely rooted.
I think I need an electronic blue motor distributor which apparently is a hell of a lot better than the basic red motor ones.

Leigh and Brodie tuned up the EK on Monday night and got it running perfectly, unfortunately that only lasted a day and the new points they put in are already starting to burn, now its missing beats at low revs.

So, I have been told dont drive it because if it konks out it could be for good. And cos I drive pretty far to work everyday its not a very good idea.

PLEASE, if you know of one or have one in good condition and dont want an arm or a leg for it call me on 04205129878 or contact me on the forum.

Cheers
Jay
PS: Huge thanks to Leigh and Brodie for helping me out on Monday night :D

i may have a standard red one down the side of the house on one of the motors i have but no idea on condition...

if i've got one your welcome to it... but like i said don't know what it's like, just on a spare motor i got.

let me know if you want me to see if i got one, you should be able to get an elec one from a blue though... try the quokka tomorrow, evilpay that sort of thing.

Cheers

are you running a resistor in series with the coil ?

If the coil has 12V when the motor is running you will burn your points out pretty quickly.
I started with nothing and still have most of it left.

cheers guys im really looking for a blue motor electric one though.
there is a lot of play in my distributor and the base plate? moves around too much as well so it is definitely not a simple fix.
Thanks for the info and suggestions
