putting hq stubs onto hr front.
i'm thinking about changing my hr drum front to disks and using hq stubs to lower it a bit at the same time,
my questions are:
1: what do i need for fitting redrilled p76 rotors to hq stubs (calipers, adaptors ect)?
2: what trailing arms do i need to use?
3: if i get p76 rotors do i need p76 calipers as well or can i use hq/z ect?
4: are all the stubs from the kingswoods the same, hq hz wb ect?
5: what else do i need?
thanks, luke.

G'day Matches,
Can't anwser most of your question... but can tell you i got complete set of HQ Stubs, disc's and calipers and bolted them straight up...
had the disk centres machined down and re-drilled to suit early holden
as for steering arms i can't remember if you want power steering or non power steering (i've gone rack n peanut)...
hopefully that helps in some way, try the hoppers stoppers website, they have this sort of info...
cheers

Re: putting hq stubs onto hr front.
Bit of a grave dig but, all stubs from HK- WB are virtually the same and will take HQ-WB vented discs, obviously you will need matching calipers or aftermarket $$$ ones. P76 rotors will give you &*#@ stud pattern if you plan on a 9" conversion otherwise blank/ re drilled HQ-WB rotors are available at double normal cost. Steering arms can be any HK-WB long or short depending on what steering you have - r&p or original box. Really depends on what wheels you want to use and what stud pattern you want, i looked at all the options and decided on HQ stubs with VN rotors and HQ cast calipers for front, VB salisbury rear with VN disc brake swap and a VN m/cylinder booster.matches wrote:i'm thinking about changing my hr drum front to disks and using hq stubs to lower it a bit at the same time,

This all a bolt in conversion using matching parts that can be found at any wreckers or new cheaply and gives me commo stud pattern with a large range of wheel options . Also have a VN diff that i will shorten incase the Buick V6 is lacking and i want to drop in a SBC.
Re: putting hq stubs onto hr front.
1. You can grab a convserion kit from CRS , basically bearing shims etc. Cost is $173 plus postage. This will allow a p76 rotor to slip onto a HQ stub axle. this will give you about 10mm pull to the center of the car. If you use CRS dropped stub axles these will give you a further 15mm pull inwards over HQ-WB stub axles.matches wrote:i'm thinking about changing my hr drum front to disks and using hq stubs to lower it a bit at the same time,

2. As above - depends on steering method
3. HQ calipers will work with the P76 discs
4. Yes as above - not sure about HK/HG/HT and HQ -WB Mick would know RATTBOOOOXXXXXXXXX ?
5. Multi stud rims, saves paying stupid money for re-drilled P76 rotors in Holden pattern, for the rest of your life. Most rims can be purchased with &*#@ and HQ/chev stud pattern. My EK van, EK sedan and EJ sedan all use multistud. Very handy !! Both the ek sedan and van use p76 and dropped stubaxle combo with HQ calipers.

Run what ya brung and hope it's enough
Re: putting hq stubs onto hr front.
Pretty much any auto accessories shop or bearing place will have them.
I started with nothing and still have most of it left.
