Transmission Tunnel

Post by EK283 »

Guys and gals,

How does the CRS tunnel compare with the original auto tunnel?

Does aftermarket carpet fit nice and neat?

Anyone with a couple of shots, My gearbox fits as is but the carpet is a shocker. :(
I need to make a false tunnel or just replace the thing cause I hate wrinkley carpet!

Regards Greg

Hi Greg, if you do a search on this subject (carpet that is) you will find a heap of info about 6 months back,

Ratbox,

Originally a manual but stretched a few years back to fit an
aussie 4 speed.
The hump is now bigger than the manual but smaller than the auto
so the carpet don't fit.
I have read previous threads as Trev reminded me of and it appears
like the CRS tunnel will suit the auto carpet.

Yeah its seems I was the guinea pig Greg. I asked all these same questions a while ago. Definitely use the CRS tunnel, it fits well and with a little bit of work with a heat gun the carpet fits well. You need to do this to get rid of the lump from the factory bracing on the inside of the car. We braced mine underneath as there was plenty of room. But it sounds like you have reread all the stuff I've put up anyway. :D
Speed and Style........... One day I'll get the speed bit.

if yor current floor hump suits yor gearbox why not get a trimmer to do the carpet, may save the time and cost in redoing the floor hump
just a sugestion
