Hmmmm....... I had one of my auto EK's up on the hoist today and was having a gander at the handbrake setup. The rear cable seemed to be slightly shorter than the manual ones but I'm sure someone will clarify this for you.
I can't think what to write here so this will do.

Hi All
Just spotted this thread.
I have a handbrake cable question so rather than start another thread i figure i would just drop it in here.

When i finally get around to fitting the HR back end ( now blasted and painted . recod 3:55 waiting to be bolted in) under the panno , can i run the original FB/EK rear cable or do i need to scrounge up a HR cable??
Has anyone seen new cables offered up on ebay.. or is there someone who makes them.??
I often see front cables advertised ... but not rears.

Yep, I think autocables will do conversions if need be and if you tell them what brake/diff combo you are using they would most likely have it ready to post out to you.

I think their evilbay username is actually "autocables" or similar ??
I can't think what to write here so this will do.

they have their act together that Autocables mob - I rang them and said I need a handbrake cable for an FB ute with a LJ diff and he said no worries , I will post it out tomorrow. 8) No thinking or measuring necessary
I started with nothing and still have most of it left.

I agree, Auto Cables do a good job. :D

I bought a cable off them.
Just tell them the Car model, Manual/Auto, Sedan/Wagon/Ute, rear end.
Mine was a EK Manual Wagon with a HR rear end.

They made it up to suit and posted it to me in Brisbane.
I had both the original EK hand brake cable and a HR one.
Probably could have got it to work, with a lot of re-engineering, but safety factor was a priority for me and having a proper one made to suit was prefered.

If only KMAC Suspensions were like that

Sent them an email saying fb sedan with lj diff, please supply me with a rear sway bar.

Took my money, sent me a bar - to suit LJ torana.

Contacted them, asked to swap it, and he bit my head off saying i am a fool yada yada yada should have given more info etc?!

Andrew
Happy auto cables customer - got a front handbrake cable from them and it was perfect!

Hey Andrew, I didn't have any problems with KMAC when they made new coil springs for me. Then again, I went in person to their Rockdale premises (a couple of 'burbs away from where I live). However, the guy who took my order kept repeatedly asking me if the springs were for an EK, which I kept saying "yes", "yes", "yes"...
Cheers, Andrew :)
