Hi all. Finally got the the front subframe off to attack the rust in the firewall. Just a couple of photos, will keep updating as I go. Taking a lot longer than first planned :roll: :roll: Kind regards, Steve

Right hand firewall cut out & dressed up ready for patching.

Right hand firewall patched and tig welded. Quick coat of primer, now for the other side.

Seems what is supposed to be a quick job always takes longer :roll: :lol: :lol:

Yeah, I've got to do the same repair soon as well as the bloody outer subframe leg to body/sill repair. Not looking forward to it, but I know its got to be done.

Did you make the repair section or find a good one from a donor car?

Hi Terry. I have to do the rail repairs as well. I made the firewall section out of 1.6mm black steel plate. It was made in five sections to get the shape, as I do not have a sheet metal bender. I tig welded it all together then linished it up to make it appear as one original piece. Kind regards, Steve
