So you finally got her back....

I used to enjoy seeing it every day parked outside the panel shop in Revesby.

They mustv'e givern her a good buff.....it was never that shiny when i drove past it

Hi Cal, they are a great paint shop if you need one. Had to paint a guard and touch a a few areas. Then buffed the factory paint. What a gem

If I may say so myself.

Hi Jimmy, we are blessed with quite a few. I have been collecting cars since I was 14.

The Morning grey was originally a ST Marys Car in the early eighties, I remember seeing the car on Bennett Rd. Then the Morning grey moved to Batmans Bay. Didn't see it again until the Nationals in 1996. It wasn't for sale

Came up on ebay about a year ago. I purchased it

The white Standard is my son Wayne's, was in our car club since the early '90's. Before it came to the club, it was folklore, no one had seen the standard auto, there was only the odd sighting. Came up for sale on the "Old Holden.com site" quite a few people passed on it. We bought it

What an amazing history !!!

On my reckoning the one pound ten shillings and 4 pence for the fuel (which these days more often than not is thrown in for free!) equates to $3.04 for eight gallons which when divided by 4.5 comes to a little over EIGHT CENTS a litre !!!

For the unwashed what sort of dollars does it take to liberate a car like that from the last owners. Likewise that beaut ute you posted all the pic s of?

I must admit when I first saw this colour I got the gag reflex and nearly soiled my computer

, but the last few pics you've posted it's actually not too bad. Looks more pinkish then grey to me. My fb was this colour originally and when I googled morning grey fb holden this thread came up and I thought - good god that's aweful!

Yeah, its not exactly a grey but not a pink either although if I was to pick I'd say its slightly more to the pink side than a grey colour.

Guess it really is the early dawn morning grey colour which it was most likely named after.

I know, they charged for a tank of fuel back then ...

The Beaut Ute (if you are referring to the Honey Beige) was $31,000

This sedan was advertised at $4,750 a year ago

Id buy them all day at that if you could.

Mind you, we have done a lot to it. The Guard and door were dented in, needed to do the brakes, etc, etc.

One of my favorite cars.
