On Monday the 24th my car was sent to a new location!
Image

I had done various things to it such as attaching fuel lines, re-working the gearbox cross-member and measuring it all up (without a hoist).
To finish it all off and give the engine a quick workover, I took it to a bloke in Ozzy park.
Image

At Ozzy Park Service Centre, they had a quick look over and told me I would have the car by Saturday - I was quite amazed!

Sooo during the week I was getting excited and at lunchtime on Thursday I recieved a call saying the car was ready! He decided to take it to an exhaust shop down the road and after they were done with it, I'd have it back :D

So, Friday I picked up the car in the arvo and had to get used to using a choke to start the red motor . He mentioned the carby was running a bit rich and they tuned it as best as they could, and also mentioned there was a bit of a fuel leak!

You should have seen my smile as I drove it away, but i was a bit worried with all the extra noises :|

So I drove it to atheletics day on Saturday and I had a bit of run chuckin burnouts on the rugby field for my mates, that afternoon I had to head up to burswood for the hot rod show!

1km away from my house, it konked out, it didnt start again, so people jumped out of their cars to help push me out the middle of a roundabout :)
Image

My thoughts were temperature, as the light has been playing up a bit, the RAC came and gave my carby decent whack thinking it may be clogged, after directly injecting some fuel the car was running brilliantly :D

I sounded the lacucaracha horn and left in a hurry as I had left an hour ago for the show and so far had only made 1km, 500m down the road, dead again :|
Image

I gave the carby more whacks and got no where, while I was waiting for the RAC to come again my Uncle drove past (how embarrassing). The rac dude came and investigated my fuel lines, we discovered they were pissing out fuel (it wasnt just a small leak), I filled up the tank the night before, aaaaaand at 3pm on saturday It was bone dry!

We fixed it and i made my way to the fuel station, I filled it up (and the gerry can) and made it all the way to burswood :D

that night the car made an appearance amongst my friends as I went and picked up all 3 of my girlfriends and went to a partyyy (Yes, eyez hell pimp...). This one girl decided to take a picture, the flash, conveniently reflecting out the corner of the front window, and me having no speedo - continued to curse at myself cos i thought i just got flashed by a speed camera...

so yeh, all the ladies love it, I love the sound and the ability to screach my tyres... only thing im not luvn is the 4gs I have to work off :|

Yep, like Ratbox said nothing to different looks wise but it was something good to read. You been hanging around Boris a bit too much methinks.

I'd look at the tune, I don't think I've ever had to use the choke on my shitty old 161. Or maybe learn to drive with two feet

Either way good job, a little amazed at the cost, but hey it happens.
Speed and Style........... One day I'll get the speed bit.

J - adjust your bonnet stops. Good to see you have got it back on the road.
I started with nothing and still have most of it left.

J is it just fuel line problems or tank issues aswell....?

i seem to remember you (or burnsy) have tank issues not just with the sender unit however...

I've got my original tank up the back shed if you want it to try and sort yours out mate just come get it....not sure what condition it's in but from memory it's pretty solid!
