Fuel tank for EK Panel van wanted

Post by matt71 »

Need a few things for an EK panel van that I purchased a little while back.
First up is a fuel tank - mine is damaged and corroded on the inside causing lots of junk in the fuel lines.
Anyone got a good one that they'd sell me?
cheers

Hi Matt

I'm guessing a van tank is the same as ute/wagon which are pretty hard to find good ones. I'm not sure what your damage is, But my wagon tank was pretty RS (corrosion/rust). I used a POR fuel tank repair kit ~$120. Worked very well, have not had to change the fuel filter since. Was going through about 1 a month

Thanks Ben-I didn't know something like that existed-what's in the kit? Can any dunder head like myself know what to do with it?
It might have to be the way to go if I can't find another tank.....
cheers

Its a three part process a cleaner, primer/neutralizer, and top coat. You have to remove the tank and allow two days for drying times etc. The kit comes with instructions pretty straight forward
I had also prior to using the kit tipped a lunch box full of nuts & bolts and give a good shake, gets a lot of the big crap out
