Who Owns This Copper EK Sedan?
Lol, on the subject of drifting old cars.. there was a post on the hamb from some guys in Finland i think, drifting old cars. One was an A RPU and another was a '48 Pontiac four door.
Youtube search Freak Race 2009, its actually pretty cool.
Smooth, what would be your way of two dooring an EK?
I've compared to say a 55 Chev, and they have an equal front and rear door window length, so using that as a basis i worked out a good measurement for extending the fronts.
After looking at a thread on the HAMB about two dooring a '55, after extending the front and moving the pillar back the rear door was cut into the inner and outter skin and fitted to the car.
In your opinion, how hard do you believe that it would be? I personally don't think it would be that hard to do a two door conversion.
In the thread on the HAMB, the user that did the conversion even stated that someone with basic welding and metal working skills could do it, it didn't seem very hard at all, as opposed to something like a chop.

Get a rusty wreck and have a go BEFORE you go cutting up a usable car - then you will see how easy it is ..........DeadSled wrote:Honestly, it doesn't seem really any harder than doing rust repairs.
It seems the hardest would be lengthening the front doors and thats just getting the measurements right to make it the right length.
I have done mine myself and theres a bit more than you think in it.
I started with nothing and still have most of it left.

Lol, mine was a rusty wreck. We just fixed it up.
My plan actually was to extend the doors, and if i didn't screw them up (and get over it, instead of finding more
) that i'd continue it. If i screwed that up, i'll leave it a more door.
I'd love to see pics of yours Blacky. What did you find was involved, and how much did you lengthen the doors? Did you chop it?

you seem to know everything, and tell us how it should be done. But keep asking for advice on how to do it.
Easy as doing rust, I have seen to many stuff ups from peoples attempts at doing rust repairs. that eventually led to the car being parted out due to the damage inflicted. It would have been better left rusty.
Saw on the HAMB, read this on the HAMB. I remember they shot you down big time when you started to make posts there with your lifetime of knowledge and percieved grasp of what was what.
The same happened on Ozrodders, those guys had a little more patients and tried to help you. But you seemed to piss off 90% of those that replied to your requests for advice. That you ignored or changed your mind over and over again. And that was on the open forum. Would have been real interesting in the members sections!
You have not posted much on these sites for some time, but it hasnt taken you long to get back into your old ways here.
No wonder they pay out on you once you start
People have offered advice that has taken them a lifetime to gain. To save you the pain and dissapointments that goes with trying to achieve new things.
Either start to listen, or go off and do it your way.
The end result will be one of two things.
The choice is yours

Paul,
I never said i know everything. I'm going by what i've read, seen or thought might work.
Honestly i think i can do it on my own, but i'm intrigued as to how you have or would do the conversion. I would like to hear others ways or methods incase i've overlooked something.
A few on the HAMB trolled me when i first joined, cause i posted a pic of my HJ, other than that they seem to be a real good bunch of blokes. Can't say the same about some of the members on Ozrodders, and i'm not the first with that opinion.
IMO, you can't get anywhere without giving something a go. I think, that if you have your mind set on doing something and know you have the required skills to do it, i can't see how it couldn't be done.
Still, as above, i'd like to see how you would do it.

daedsled how you described doing the 2 door conversion is the way i was doing mine, don't listen to what people say if you can measure, weld and bog IT IS easy the wind up rear window may prove a headacke, i only stopped mine due to money but it will get done next year IF i even bother to continue with the car at all
my advise pick one car for now and finish it so you have something to back up what yor saying
MOST of oddrodders are a pack of tools

Thanks Mick, i figured it couldn't be too hard.
I know the wind up rear window might be a bit difficult because i'll be removing the quarter and having a one peice rear window, but i know it isn't impossible.
As far as what you say about Ozrodders / Oddrodders / OzDobbers.. i completely agree.

But posting a pick of a post 63 car on a site aimed at pre 63 was always going to get that sort of response. You actually got off easy on that one (which I'm sure you now realize after being on there for a while), over the years I've seen worse.DeadSled wrote:A few on the HAMB trolled me when i first joined, cause i posted a pic of my HJ, other than that they seem to be a real good bunch of blokes.
Speed and Style........... One day I'll get the speed bit.
DR,
Yes, i've heard of the days where people got so flamed they never came back. I think that was the days of Germ.
Also, i like the additions.
A mate of mine was wanting to build a T roadster (glass body) on a Model A frame. He phoned a few local Brisbane companies and mentioned Ozrodders to all three and all three of them had a similar response that Ozrodders are a bunch of wankers who build abortions.
I'd have to agree, considering most of their fenderless rods have holden front ends in them.
Your Roadster on the other hand DR, one of my favourite Aussie rods.
