Angle Grinder ? Part of car gone. Problem !

Post by Finny »

The angle grinder did a good job of cutting out rusted areas. :D

Welding did a good job welding metal back in. :D
Most areas where just a matter of leveling back to the surrounding areas.
The front corners however are a bit more challenging.
I didn't have a combined solid piece to use as a template.

Using Fiberglass as filler (Don't want rust again).
Now I have the issue of getting the shape right again. :? :?

Does anyone have any close up photos of the front corner ?
Door open, door closed, different angles ? :? :?

I have the grill section. So under it will be OK.
But I thought there was a bit of metal showing above the door when it is closed.

This is what I have at the moment, same on both sides.

Thanks but I;m just after some pictures of that area.
I believe that part of it shows and I want to try any get the angles right.

If I get the covered ones wrong then the bits won;t sit down when I start putting it back together.

Thanks Luke, that's a great shot. :D :D
Really helps to see the lines.

Just need someone to do one exactly the same but with the windscreen and guard in place.

Thanks Luke, pictures have been very helpful.
Just doing the final adjustments.
Can you can get a couple more photo's of the corner areas, and the bit at the front where it drops down under the grill (Air vent) plate ?
