NO I dont have a furnace mould for chopped FB EK screens. (yet)
I do have fibreglass moulds and a screen made from this that was to be cut to size after the roof was chopped, so an accurate furnace mould could be made.
As I mentioned before I still want to build my FB Nomad and a screen will be manufactured for it that will suit any other FB EK that is chopped in the same manner and to the same measurements.
But this is not going to happen in the next few months as I am flat out with customers jobs.
An FB EK screen furnace mould costs about $3,000 to produce with test screens to check that all sections match the pattern supplied.
Because of the shape of the screen a three piece ( double hinged) pattern is required to form the shape in the furnace.
This compared to say an FC screen pattern that is a simple one piece pattern that can cost possibly $1,500

Harko,
After looking at the photos I have now come to the conclusion a $2000.00 acid dip was worth every single cent. I dont envy you crawling underneath to do the same although thats just me cause Im aging gracefully.
Keep up the good work anyhow as I am certainly watching your progress.
Regards Greg

So many cars so little time!
Hey Ratbox,
$15000 for knee replacements or $2000 for the dip I had to think about it for a while!
Have a look at my FB/EK under Chev EK for the results I know it sounds dear but its just so easy to work on now.
It was my 40th birthday present from my dad and the car was originally his fathers so I wasn't going to argue!
Regards greg

I know it seems everything to do with stripping cars is costly and expensive , I like the idea of dipping for sure but alas I am not that wothy with the pennies and the hint of scottish blood deters me from it ..
I was under the impression that the acid removes all cavity / panel sealants and deadeners and they need to be replaced ...
I usualy just strip the open areas with those scotchbrite type pads and have the rest blasted when ready , ie after all welding and grinding , seems the easiest route for me and well priced if you use the right blasters ..
The bog dust wont go to waste oldnek I'll just sprinkle a portion under my little fella's pillow once a week for the next few years and Im sure he will become a spray painter for my evil devilish plan haaaargh haaaargh haaargh .
But seriously this thing had some f.....g bog in it , the most Ive ever removed from a car , It was actualy fun , kinda reminded me of letting of the powder fire extinguishers in school and running except I got to stay untill the end hehe.
I got to see how I will look when my daughter becomes a teenager too
grey.
This is my first strip with a mask Ratbox , the difference was worlds apart.
What you guys dont see in these pics is what else Ive been doing , Ive painted up a golden fleece garage up the back , set up a display with the 26 Chev and built a sign 600 x 4.2m across the roof , Im just having trubs getting a photocopy of my design blown up to the actual size so I can use it for templates , But give it some time and I'll update ya's here.

Easily distracted angle manipulator extrordinaire.
EK283 wasn't having a go at you, i'm like harko tight arsed when it comes to things like that, and have alot more time than money, i also don't trust chemicals
back off topic, seen the purple FC ute (refered to earlier) on the weekend and it's owner the front screen is definately glass, but FC's don't have the drastic curve that EK's have so not alot of trouble to cut
