Q ! Gas conversion rebate.

Has anyone had any further practical knowledge on the ins and outs of the system yet ?
I would like to know weather or not I can set up a gas system and have a conversion signitory just sign it off as acceptable. and if or should I say how much will I be expecting to fork out ...
I have two in date systems here but Im contemplating which cars to run them in ..
$4 grand wasnt it ? and how do we get the cheque

I have two cars on LPG and thought well it's about time I was rewarded for not chewing up fossil fuel (The government has finally come good

I have the foresight and brains to use this long before the government thinks it wise to rebate "new" users. But, screw the faithful. Typical!

AFAIK you can get the rebate for S/H units, but you need receipts and a licensed fitter to sign off on the system. I think if you only spend say $1000 then that is all you get back.

I didnt buy a system I bought a car and transfered it so Ill look for a loop hole

Here's some points of interest for those wishing to know ...

The full grant is available regardless of the cost of conversion or the extra cost of a new dedicated LPG vehicle. For example, the $2,000 is available for a conversion whether you pay $1,800 or pay $3,500.

Q. Is assistance available for vehicle conversions using a second hand LPG system?

A. Yes - conversions using second hand LPG units are eligible for the grant.

Q. Why isn’t a higher amount offered to cover the full (additional) costs of LPG vehicles?

Applications can be made by individuals who buy a new LPG vehicle or who have a new or used petrol or diesel vehicle converted to LPG. The Scheme will close on 30 June 2014.

A. This Scheme is designed to encourage people to convert to LPG powered vehicles. There will be a significant benefit not only to the community, but to individual users in terms of reduced running costs. It is therefore reasonable that users contribute to the cost of conversion.

I wonder what the charge will be for a relevant signitory to sign off the conversion ?

And how many cars a year I can claim for .

Maybe Ill hook up the gas then take it out for a year then hook it up again the following year to claim again

Now theres a loophole hehe might pay for rego

*******There is only 1 grant per person every three years regardless of the number of vehicles registered in that persons name!

You definatley can't do that, the vin number of the registered vehicle is matched to the LPG certification Number on the LPG plate and that is logged on the Scheme records. So to even cancell the rego and get her re-registered won't work.

Yeah, we did everything by the book and when claiming the rebate we still had hassles, we took the rego renewal instead of the "original" rego papers and they saw fit to delay the process a few days.
I think the claim limit is something like 1 car every three years, but everyone in your household is eligble to collect. In theory I could claim twice a year, 1 wife and 4 kids.
