Help!!

How the freaking hell do you fit the ute rear windscreen glass into the rubber seal without loosing ones sanity completely - does the end glass go first or the centre glass first.

(missus has put medico's number in speed dial in case of emergency)

Blue Ute,
I did a ute many years ago and Im pretty sure the end glass went first. The main glass being rectangular was easier to stretch the rubber around. I did use WD40 and another helper as I recall. I also remembered that the chrome strips were a bugger to fit as well. You just have to percevere until its done.
Keep the straight jacket on hand just in case you break anything

Simple, get someone else to do it. Like a windscreen fitter. Chrome strips will in at the end, and for them you should just stick one end and slide em on. Use the right tools aswell to get the rubber flaps out etc...

Yeah I'm going to get someone to fit it to the car but in meantime want to fit the glass & trim into the new rubber to let sit in sun to get its shape before fitting.
The front - should you fit the trim in the rubber first then fit the glass or 'visa versa' & the back window do you fit the centre glass first or the side glass first, seem to have a problem keeping the sides in the rubber.

Ok with the back window, Im not sure which piece goes first, but I would say the middle goes last cause its square and a bit more simple.

As for putting the rubber on early to get shape, good idea, doesnt HAVE to be done but shouldnt hurt. Dont worry about fitting the trim at this stage though.

And yeah, the trim goes in last once all the glass and rubbers are in.

Always helps to have atleast one or two more sets of hands when doing this stuff.

Finally with the aid of the 3 stubbies, pool table top & masking tape I have had success by putting the rear sides in first then the centre

As a word of advice for anyone with an issue like this again. As the saying goes "You want something done right you gotta do it yourself!" My friend had his Telstar ( I know wat was he thinking) resprayed and got the glass taken out by a so called professional windscreen mob who actually smashed the glass trying to get it back in and would not cover the replacement cost! So think twice before trusting someone else to do the right job
