Pontiac for only $2,800

Post by Finny »

Got home from the doctors, to find my son waiting to take me to see a car he had found. (He is getting the bug) 8)

Its a Pontiac he says. But doesn't know which one.

OK I say. But why do you wnat me to look at it ?
Cause I like it but I may need a loan to get it, he says.
It's only $2,800 but looks really good, he says.

So we go and have a look.
As we pull up, I can see the mags, the chrome and exhaust, and I say " Looks like a goer, the bits I can see justify the price, We'll give them a deposit"

Son is going to see about getting glasses next week
Sorry son, your bank manager doesn't lend that much. $28,000.
It's only a "0" he says. Keep looking, I say. :D
Nice car but out of your price range. At least he appreciates some style.

I had a few of those.
I had one as a shitty daily driver for years that had a fuelly headed 350, chromies, very low. Best hack car I ever had.
The front no. plate folded under was a reminder of days gone by, need to mount them real high if you lower the front properly 8)

$28,000 seems a bit over the top. A guy has been trying to sell a tidy looking '63 sedan for somewhere in the mid teens & there is/was a '62 Bonneville coupe for sale for under $16,000.
