EK Front Drums interchangeability with HR Front Drums

Post by paroharo »

Hi all,
I have the opportunity to install a HR Drum Brake front end to my EK.
I'm after this mainly for the ball joint design so I can install dropped spindles in the future. I don't really want to go to discs as I feel the drums will be fine for what I'm running - the stock grey - and I don't want a booster cluttering the engine bay.
When I bought my EK I fixed the front brakes up to get the car roadworthy - machined the drums, relined the shoes and had the wheel cylinders reco'd - all up close to $300.
My question is will the EK front Drum hardware listed above fit on the HR Drum front end or will I have to get all the work listed above done again with my HR Drum front end?

Cheers,

From a quick look at the EK and the HR manuals.
No. It won't fit, different shoes etc. :( :( :(

I haven't tried it though. :?
