Hey everyone i tried to remove the glass and chrome surround from the quarter windows i attempted to undo teh nut attached to the bottom where the spring is and in one turn the nut snapped off with part of the bolt/thread...
Firstly after reading the workbook and following the instructions i was still unable to remove the frame is there a certain way to do this??
Secondly will the damaged bolt where the spring is located effect the quarter window in any way?

Unfortunatly the bolt and spring are what creats tenion on the frame to hold the window open against air flow when the vehicle is moving
Your best bet is to track down a sparequarter assmbly and start again I bought a complete door for $20 at a swap so they are not expensive
On the next one use a wire brush to clean the thread thorougly soak with CRC and work the nut slowly meaning loosen it 1/4 turn then tighten it back up then loosen a bit further and tighten again and so forth
Periodicly clean the thread with the wire brush and spray more CRC

First undo that nut as described previosly then drill out these 2 at the top

then slowly spread apart


Then slowly lift the glass assembly up and out
The stopper and washers on the nut end will be a bit tight but lots of CRC is the go make shure you are gentle with the fiber washers as the reproductions are not the same these are just above the spring and U bracket

Looks as if there was a Frantz fitted to the car that window came off?
Don't forget to put the cam back in the correct way around when you re-fit Kingaz - it stops the quarter window flipping back - probably won't close if if its in the wrong way anyway.
You will need to adjust that nut against the spring - too loose and the window will self close - too tight and you'll find it hard to close.
All the bits in there are for a purpose - make sure you put em all back in the way they come out.
I smoothed down the faces of the spring on a very fine oilstone when I did mine - it turns better.
And don't forget to coat all the stuff with something - just by where it is it gets a lot of water and from the main window and causes the bits to rust.

Thanks Craig and Dee good work craig with the pics helps a bit still unsure of the approach thinking of just putting them in as were close to rego soon so just need them in to pass the roady
