Cheers guys for the feedback!

The 57 isnt mine Stu ..... my mechanic purchased it about 2 months back, it had a white roof back then. I stir him up constantly about the chev, with the EK being in the shop for a while, he got a bug to get something with fins that was red .... I constantly tell him he has a "poor man's EK" !

The rear wheels trev are as follow -
8.5inch rear rim with MT Sportsman 28x10 rubber

As for tyre scrub the front drivers side at the moment will rub, but this is the side that has the panel kink, once straightend and the lip removed I should get about 1- 1.5 inches clearance from the top of the guard. Really only want the front end dropped maybe 1 to 2inches.

The rear needs to be trimed and rolled just at the base of the guard arch, heres the close up - as good as I could get with the camera showing clearances

No scrub up top and i can fit my fingers between the rubber and the guard but the bottom arches both sides need to be trimed and tucked still ... that said the car drives without touching anything at the moment. But thats just little trips in and out the workshop, so no fouling as such .

well from what i can see this thing is designed to go quick in a straight line not so much around corners :)

i'd probably go another half to 1 inch at the front but otherwise sweet as!
Regards,

Sammy.

Been away a while sorry guys, had alot of crap on lately with work and just finished up my little sister house which is finally built, she moves in next weekend.

Car has had the metal fabriciation completed -
- Re-strengthend bonnet bracing, with the hole for the carbs it had ALOT of sway. No longer !!
- Hump under the back seat for the yoke clearance for the strange center
- Fuel Tank raised !! Very happy with the new position.

Prior it looked like a bloody drop tank on a SLR

Cheers guys for the feedback greatly appreciated.

Still a fair bit to go ... but I guess it comes down to how particular I wish to be, as whats left is just niceties ..... It will be re-painted same colour, chrome needs to be fixed up still as does the glass for all windows .... new rubbers with the paint applied and then the interior. More time and more money........ and all I keep thinking about is whacking it into second gear, nice pull into the seat feel !!

The car is drive-able (thou the front drivers guard still rubs due to its kink), its possible I may take it down to Harrys at Liverpool this Friday. Will be its first real outting since the V* (excluding the local back streets for testing) I believe theirs a charity run down there and its close by. Car is good for very short trips with the way the guard is. Next dilema thou is bonnet or no bonnet.

The sedan is now in the shop getting a full respray in the same red colour .....

Existing paint on the car was 15+ years old, time for a freshen up !! All the chrome has been pulled off, seals removed (all shot) and glass out. Interior has been pulled out also for the inside to get re-done.

Will get the wheel clearances sorted and thankful no unknown rust found within the old thing, was very happy considiering its been a while since the original build.
