Searching for my first car FB Holden QLD NLY 550

Post by FB Fan Boy »

Just posting here in the hope that maybe the first car I bought was still kicking around. It was registered in Brisbane, QLD under the original black and white plates NLY 550. Light blue (duck egg?) FB Special with the grey side panels. I was the second owner and sold the car in I think in 1991. Any of the QLDers on here aware of this car through the club etc? Not wanting anything beyond seeing if the car still exists and maybe the odd snap to show the kids. I sorely miss the old beast. She was a grand looking dame. :-)

Tim,
Thanks for the speedy feedback. It sounds a lot like the car. When I had the car it was showing 67000 original miles. Lovely original nick. Red interior? The Nasco bonnet emblem?

Wow. That's the old girl alright. Great to see she is alive and well after all these years. I couldn't remember the name of the guy who bought the car. From my recollection he was doing his trade apprenticeship at the time but little other memories remain. I only had the car for about a year as my parents bought a Nissan for us kids to use. God what was I thinking trading in the FB for a Pulsar.... :-)

Anyone here from Victoria recognise this car or are its new owners? Obviously the plates will be different but maybe the bonnet ornament, wheel spats, colour etc might be a clue as to its present status.
