Unusual body tag

Post by Blacky »

Had a look at CJ's ute tonight , noticed the body tag is a bit different to the norm -
Image
Sorry about the photo quality , camera phone  It reads FB2106S4-486-A Trim 906-001 Paint 585-0111.

Anyone able to decipher ? Jacko? Dr Terry?

Hi Blacky.

Yes, this one is unusual.

Firstly, the S4 signifies that it was built as an Army ute or for some other Government department. The 906 exterior number is in the 'fleet' listing. The 001 interior trim is not listed, again something special.

I should have the 0111 paint number listed at home, I will check tonight. It's not Army green is it ?

It appears to have been a grey colour originally, it has been repainted red metallic at some point - is still grey powered and has not been chopped up so would be a very good base for a resto. Ther grey kinda reminds me of the electricity vans colour from years ago.
