Lowered FB
Lowered FB
I've been thinking about how low you can get an FB or EK, here's what I'm thinking if you go to low the tailshaft will hit the tunnel, so can you make the tunnel bigger as in height ways so the car can be realy dropped on its guts? As I have to replace the floor anyway I might give it a go, unless someone can give me a good reason not to do it! Waddya recon?
Your idea will get the car low allright however with the characteristic body roll of the FB/EK I feel you might get in trouble with the tyres fouling the guards particularly at the back. You can gain clearance in the rear guards by folding in the lip around the arch making sure you smooth them out to prevent them cutting into the tyre wall ( you probably know this anyway). I haven't seen or known anyone to have tried what you are about to embark on but I wish you luck. The old girl will look cool i'm sure.
Can't see a problem there at all Trev. Dropped spindles and stiffer lowered springs (or at least heavy duty as you don't want to bottom out to easily! I've seen it happen
) and reset rear and blocks, this way at least you can easily raise it to a legal height if need be
...
Tunnel mods shouldn't really be that much, keeping in mind how much it will move. Split it down the middle and raise it up! I'm hoping I don't have clearance issues once fully loaded.

Speed and Style........... One day I'll get the speed bit.

i've had some very low eks and what we did was as mentioned split the hump and raised, it one in particular had the front crossmember chanelled plus drop stubs and cut springs the bottom of the front guard behind the wheel was 3'' off the ground and if you had rear seat passengers the rear spring hangers would scrape on the ground over bumps
