Well the sedan had a run for about an hour straight to check temperature and such ......... cabin filled with smoke as the exhaust is too close to the floor pans. Then an oil problem !!!

Now the exhaust is being reshaped ( close to where the fuel pump was ) and the rear main seal has gone ............ so the box is coming back out.

Just got to love how it all works out :)

Mephious,
Im not sure how your going to do the rear main without pulling the engine out and apart.
Chevs are normally good in that part for leaks, had them for years and never suffered from rear main leaks.
I suppose if its a late model block you can remove the adapter and seal.
Let me know you get along.
I am still curious at how your going to get this thing registered in NSW?

Regards Greg

Aint been cheap Mick , but hard work has never killed mate. My entire family have always worked long crazy hours so it must be in the blood... and as good ole Mah says "You dont appreciate anything unless you work for it"

Greg , the sedan is already registered and engineered ..... car was never out of rego during the entire build also.

Actually hopped in it today , fingers crossed it will be back home possibly the end of next week according to my mechanic Gino. Rear seal is all fixed up , seems there was a crack in the cap at the back of the block where the seal slots in. Didnt have to remove the engine , just drop the box and rear cross member which was easier.

Car has sunk alot also , so the ride height is starting to really shape up !! Really looking forward to getting it back !!!

back to car stuff maybe that is why i don't really appreciate my cars as they come pretty easy to me :?

With those wheels and tyres, that would be as much on the guts as your going to get I think. Stance looks perfect, i would also be supprised if those back tyres didn't rub, but I hope not , Trev 8)

Hi Scott,

Looks real tough. If you go lower at the front it looks like it will rub.

That your 57?

Cheers guys for the feedback!

The 57 isnt mine Stu ..... my mechanic purchased it about 2 months back, it had a white roof back then. I stir him up constantly about the chev, with the EK being in the shop for a while, he got a bug to get something with fins that was red .... I constantly tell him he has a "poor man's EK" !

The rear wheels trev are as follow -
8.5inch rear rim with MT Sportsman 28x10 rubber

As for tyre scrub the front drivers side at the moment will rub, but this is the side that has the panel kink, once straightend and the lip removed I should get about 1- 1.5 inches clearance from the top of the guard. Really only want the front end dropped maybe 1 to 2inches.

The rear needs to be trimed and rolled just at the base of the guard arch, heres the close up - as good as I could get with the camera showing clearances

No scrub up top and i can fit my fingers between the rubber and the guard but the bottom arches both sides need to be trimed and tucked still ... that said the car drives without touching anything at the moment. But thats just little trips in and out the workshop, so no fouling as such .
