What is this and is it important?

Saw this posted somewhere, can anyone tell me the purpose of the line running from the manifold and I assume it goes to the fuel pump? The line on both my EK's has been replaced by a nut on the manifold.

That line would be going to the dizzy for the vacuum advance, good for keeping the timing just rite, Trev

runs windscreen wipers on fe fc fb ek has electic wipers so doesnt need it
