Front End Tip....

Post by Devilrod »

Just a word of advice guys, if your car is low and you have a fair few shims in the front end to get it aligned properly make sure you check the shims and bolts holding them in place every so often.

I lost some of mine on the way home tonight, f@#kin things had come loose and as I braked it pulled to the right (not unusaul if you run drums  , but discs...). I found a spot to stop (peak hour) to have a look but couldn't really see much. So I've just come back in from swearing at the car and making a temp shim to get me by till Saturday morning when my mate will redo the alignment. What a pain....

But lesson learned....

it must be the time of the year for it, sometime before christmas i had the wheel alignment done on the torana, they found a bolt loose on the bottom control arm, no biggie ... anyways its been wearing really bad and pulling all over the place over the last few weeks so i got another one done and apparently some of the control arm and crossmember mounting bolts were loose!
Regards,

Sammy.

Yep, I'd be checking that on a real regular basis Sammy.

Mines all fixed. Lost a few shims out of one side the other was fine.
