ah what a goose pulled front end down (HR DISK) but didnt take any pic now i cant 4 the life of me work out how to assemble it .. .duh..

so i some one could post me a few shots of one or point me to some pics already on the net .. that would be great ..

oh next dumb Question which way do the springs go ? open end to bottom wish bone ?

i think so dave i just done mine b4 chrissy and if you look at lower control arm it has a recess for the open end,,,, and the flat end goes up thats on king pin set,,, up but hr is same spring wise,, i think
when they start building them like that again i will buy a new car of them

thanks Karsten .. i thought that was the case ..

hmm was not happy with the lower wish bone bushes .. and pulling down i found the pivot rod was bent .. and wouldnt u know it i had already ordered new bushes from rears .. so now ill have to order the pivot kit instead .. hmm maybe that explains all that shims ..

Hi Dave,
been offline for a couple of days and missed your request.

Yes, the open end of the spring goes to the lower wishbone - you will find that the wishbone is "shaped" to take the end of the spring - make sure that little hole is clear so that any crap can get out.

There should be nylon insulators fitted to the top of the spring - adding/subtracting can adjust ride height - marginally.

That pivot is surely bent - I may have to replace mine in due time - I believe the ones fitted to be original 1965.

Your making good progress - I'm not counting the magna in yet..........

it coming along have completed all under body work now .. just waiting on pivot bolt from rares and will assemble her back on all 4's ..

what colour are you going dave???? was there much rust in frrame,,, fire wall ,,,,looks pretty clean in the pics,,,,,ive been doing all this about a week in front of you,,, mine is togeather now ,,, waiting for the gearbox to be reconded and then ill be putin in the moter and start finishing of the paint ,,, cant wait to finish but theres shit loads to do im gonna give up on yammba dont want to rush it ,,,still mite go in the commadore for a look see,, ,looking great mate :wink:
when they start building them like that again i will buy a new car of them

ah front end is painted black gloss as is the sub frame .. she a replacement one as the orginial was stuffed ..

if u look at the pics under my ek .. the sub frame was a match for the rest of the car .. but she came with this FB replacement ..

Hmm seems i need a new drag link too .. i notice rares have change overs ..

may look for some one local to reco mine .. .

yeah same here re nationals .. she wont be ready it so it will be the company magna 4 me .. atleast the fuel will be free .. he he
