Good bend in that rod. When the unstoppable force meets the immovable object
Lucky it didn't make some large, irregularly shaped welch plugs like Greg's red motor.
Cheers,

I thought I'd add an update of the Holden Grey that I replaced the expired engine with that gave me the victory at the Bangers and Mash event. After extensive modification of absolutly nothing except for fresh fuel (91 straight from the pump) I did a total of 13 passes at Gunnedah this past weekend. All runs were between 9.3 -9.4 eighth mile at 35 degree tempertures. The upshot was that I won the D division and also picked up the trophy for best reaction time of 0.007. Not bad for an old coot with a manual gearbox and an engine that I didn't think would survive the Bangers and Mash event. Drove it onto the trailer at the end of the day and that's always a bonus.

I only know one 138 that is “Easily identified by.. the signature “Holden” embossed on the rocker cover”

Well I learned something today, Holden actually stroked the 132 to make a 138 ........go figure
I started with nothing and still have most of it left.

So all these years I've been wrongly under the impression that it was the increase in bore size that made the 138. Well, there ya go.
That's a fairly old photo of my car. The 'embossed ' Holden on the rocker cover was an old bonnet badge from my FJ ute which I glued on plus I run a mechanical pump for better flow at speed.
