Re: Neil's FB Station Wagon
Haven’t had much time lately but started fitting the alloy radiator to the chassis, bought it 2 months ago from eBay.
I sat it in the chassis and couldn’t figure out what was wrong.
Got the tape measure out and a straight edge The core is bowed as you can see and it’s out of square by about 20mm
Contacted the seller and to start with they tried to say “how do we know you didn’t damage it” I wasn’t happy

Re: Neil's FB Station Wagon
I got a bit pissed about the radiator and was feeling that I wasn't achieving anything so thought I would do a five minute job
Was not the original and the bloody thing fought me all the way as they always do 4 hours later and I had it on.
My panel beater mate Keith wanted me to fit it to make sure it would go right because of the amount of repair I had done at the bottom of the A pillars and the wings of the chassis.

Re: Neil's FB Station Wagon
Getting it done Neil. I had one on the van on the rotis, to gap the doors. Then upside down to put the floor and tunnel in. Was the original, which I since scrapped. It fitted relatively well but still took a couple of hours at least. I hope the new one fits okay.

New radgiator showed up today it looks really good but will know better when I fully unpack it when I get it home tonight.
Can then finish mods to the subchassis and move on to the front cross member, suspension, twin piston calliper mod and power steering

Re: Neil's FB Station Wagon
I have a LX Torana front end at home, thinking I might run with that rather than a HR or aftermarket one - if I could find someone who has installed and driven one of those Street Machine Garage or whatever they call themselves front ends and they are a good thing I would use one but I am not prepared to throw $6-7k at one and hope for the best.FireKraka wrote: Wed Jul 09, 2025 1:19 pm
