Paint Shop in or near Brisbane

Post by Shane'o »

Hi, I am looking to get my 61 EK ute painted back to the original Montana Grey exterior. Will also need a little panel beating here and there.
Would anyone be able to suggest a couple of paint shops that may be suitable for a little panel work, (no rust just a couple of small dents and cabin roof feels a little wavy in places), and paint?
cheers,
Shane'o

May help to send Hamlet a PM - he is a local and would be the best bloke to ask I would think. I know Tim Gall had quite a bit of panelwork done recently in Brisbane but I don’t know if that guy does paint as well
I started with nothing and still have most of it left.

Hi, I took my EK ute to Bridgens Restorations at Lawnton in Brisbane, who quoted "can not start your project for 12 months and will need your car for 12 months and you will need to pay as you go before we start the next step". Estimated price was approx. $50K +/-.

Ute has no rust and no dents. But it has a "rattle can" spray job which apparently is a problem, so the ute will need to be blasted before starting paint.

Might look at vinyl wrap? LOL
cheers,

I would look at having a go myself - what sort of finish are you after ? Pristine show car or a sunday driver ??

Don’t sound to me like it needs blasting if there is truly no rust or dents. Just rub back to primer and as Blacky says, closed door respray in original colour in the carport?!
