Well, I just came in from the shed - I THINK it’s ready , will find out tomorrow I guess….. I tested the fuel line and fixed the leak, put a bung in the factory outlet in the fuel tank, installed the air intake and plumbed in the idle air motor then turned the friggin shed upside down looking for the top radiator hose .
Eventually gave up and cut up another one ImageImage
Retorqued the head , filled it up with water and called it a night

Fingers crossed Image

Good luck sir. Will keep an ear open for the sounds of mechanical joy.

Well - she runs
Got it started after a couple of little issues which is a lot better than I was expecting- the O2 sensor isn’t talking to the computer and the injectors are a bit iffy - they have been sitting around for more years than I care to admit to so that’s not too surprising.

I don’t know how to post a video but I didn’t really get a decent one anyway, I was trying to video it but after several false starts while Mike was playing with the timing I got distracted and forgot all about videos and just concentrated on doing what I had to do.

Very cool Blacky 8) 8) 8) 8) maybe a little injector cleaner in the tank and let the system clean itself while you are giving it a run.

They were second hand when I got them 6 years ago and the orings have gone a bit yuk - am just going to order some bigger ones and then they will be new and one less thing to worry about. Only need 3 so not a big spend .....

So, yesterdays efforts were -
Remove supercharger - again - to drill and tap another hole in the manifold for a dedicated boost reference line to the computer, apparently having it in the area that feeds the 2 rearmost cylinders is not good enough, it needs to be in the main plenum area.
Image

While it was off I got sidetracked making a new throttle bracket out of heavier gauge steel
Image

Which led to starting out on the accelerator pedal end - plan B was to run the cable straight to it and extend the arm , found the pedal is pretty severely flogged out so started making a new one out of a donor VT pedal

Sort of copying the original arrangement but have made it wider and used the VT nylon bushings- still a work in progress because of an early knock off to go to a mates for Australia Day shenanigans
