Ruthenium Spark Plugs

Post by muza »

Gday guys. Has anyone tried ruthenium spark plugs by ngk? I’ve been reading up a little bit on forums in the states, and they seem to get pretty good wraps. Probably not quite suited to a grey motor 😂, but was wondering if anyone with performance engines has tried them. Supposed to be better ignition, longer lasting etc. Even to get a few more hp would be handy. Not sure if I should post it here or topics of other interest

Nor I,

You wont get any noticeable horse power gains with spark plugs, they do however compliment a good ignition if they are matched appropriately.

I did an experiment with spark plugs on a dyno a few years ago, absolutely no change in HP with different brands of plugs.

The type you are talking about, is that the material their made of or just a brand name ?

There are ruthenium plugs on the market. Ruthenium is a metal element similar to platinum.
