Update on glovebox lid. Adjusted the lock tab a bit, lubricated the lock assembly and pushed a bit of clear tube over the end of the spring to get it in contact with the lid. Perfecto. Jumps open now😀

Couldn't put it off any longer. Buffing started. Initial with foam pad then will go back over with lambswool. So far not too bad.ImageImage

Not too bad!

Reckon that FX got FJ overriders, as if I'd know. I hear there is a show at wagga wagga.

That FX is probably a '53. They had FJ style over riders and tubular shocks as well. Cheers, Fraze

Buffing, buffing buffing. Finding a few blemishes here and there, but on the whole its pleasurable work. Roof next.

Is it worth painting trim clips? The rolled ones from Sam Crupi seem to be bare metal, the others have green paint and the Rares ones are plated so OK I guess. Also, do they go on with mastic?

They rust out pretty bad, so need either paint or plating. I thought Sams were stainless though.

A dollop of sealant helps keep the water out. Stainless self-tappers can help too.

Thanks Clay. New question: do scratch plate tabs go between gasket and paint, or between gasket and handle?

Looking good Brett,

Not sure about the scratch plates originally but I would put them on top of the gaskets to limit the contact between the plate and paint.

I have not done mine yet so it will be interesting to see what you find when installing them.
